3 Background National organizations work with safety net providers throughout the country and are uniquely positioned to collaborate with other organizations to advance the goals of improving the health of underserved communities and vulnerable populations Cooperative agreement to improve access to oral health care, increase awareness of the connection between oral health and overall health, promote prevention, and improve oral health literacy to health providers and patients 3

4 Oral Health NCA: Purpose To provide specialized training and technical assistance (T/TA) to HRSA awardees including: –HRSA supported service delivery and workforce programs –Primary Care Associations (PCAs) –State Offices of Rural Health (SORHs) –Primary Care Offices (PCOs) To increase access to primary oral health care services for underserved and vulnerable populations 4

5 Award Information 5 Funding amount: approximately $550,000 Project period is up to three years Project start date: September 1, 2011

6 Eligibility Requirements Applicant is a public, non-profit, or for-profit entity that can provide T/TA on a national basis to community- based organizations, including tribal and faith-based organizations. 6

7 Funding Restrictions Ineligible uses of NCA funding: Construction/renovation of facilities Reserve requirements for State insurance licensure Support for lobbying/advocacy efforts 7

8 Submission Process Grants.gov deadline: June 30, 2011 by 8 PM ET Applications may not exceed 80 pages or 10MB –Applicants should register early! –Organization must register in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) prior to registering in Grants.gov –Applicants must receive a validation email from Grants.gov * Monitor email and spam accounts for email notification and/or error messages from Grants.gov 8

13 Project Work Plan Matrix The work plan should be responsive to providing T/TA to HRSA supported service delivery and workforce programs, PCAs, SORHs, and PCOs with the goal of assisting them to meet program requirements, improve performance, and support program development and analysis activities Applicants must address all the required Oral Health NCA T/TA activities listed under “NCA Recipient Roles and Responsibilities” (Section II: Award Information section) of the FOA as well as any other T/TA needs identified in the application narrative Project Work Plan Matrix - Refer to Appendix A 13
