Report Types of T31 T31 supports two major report types: alarm report and performance report. The alarm report provides alarm information of hardware and services for troubleshooting. The performance report provides performance information of hardwares and services for network maintenance and optimization.

EMS Connection Check To ensure that the EMS correctly and timely reports the equipment running status, it is necessary to check the connection between the equipment and the EMS. The legend at the top left corner of NE is, it means the connection between the equipment and the EMS is broken.

Alarm Monitoring Alarm Mask The equipment will not detect the masked alarm anymore, nor report to the EMS. Alarm Filter The alarm filter enables the EMS to choose which alarms will be reported. It includes two modes: display filter and report filter. Display filter: The alarms that meet the condition are saved into the database only and not displayed on the client interface. The display filter can be set effective either to all users or to the current user only. Report filter: The alarms that meets the condition are neither saved into the database nor displayed on the client interface. They are discarded directly.
39
Alarm Monitoring Alarm Preload The alarm preload is used to handle the alarms generated on the ports without loaded service in the network. It includes two modes: inversion and report auto recovery. To set the “LOS” alarm of the port to inversion mode. Alarm Forward The alarm forward defines that the EMS notifies the specified maintenance personnel of the alarm in the form of E-mail and/or short message according to the specific rules when a reported alarm meets the condition. It includes two modes: periodical forward and default forward. Periodical forward: The attributes of the period and the relation between the user and the period need to be set, and the location of the current date in the period needs to be judged, then the corresponding user is chosen to be forwarded. Default forward: The reported alarm that meets the condition is directly forwarded to the specified users.

Performance Monitoring On the EMS, you can monitor the performance of the NE. Through the performance events, you can keep aware of the running status of the NE, and judge the performance of the network.
