Verbs in Spanish All verbs in Spanish end in –ar, -er, -ir.
When they are in this basic form, they are called infinitives. Examples: bailar, nadar, escribir, correr All infinitives mean = to do something. When you conjugate a verb you put it into a different form to match the subject of the sentence. We do this in English too.

Verb conjugations In English, if we want to say where people are from we say: I am from Bethpage. She is from Bethpage. We changed am to is when we talk about a different subject. In Spanish, we need to do the same thing. They call this conjugating the verb.

Ser – to be ser is an infinitive
Yo soy = I am Tú eres = You are Él He is Ella es = She is Ud. You are Nosotros/as somos = We are Vosotros/as sois = You-all are Ellos They are Ellas son = They are Uds. You-all are Singular form: one person, thing, or object Plural form: more than one person, thing, or object
