European hunters are responsible for the early decline of black rhino populations. They are killed for amusement. They are being for there horns. The rhino horn is very valuable for medical and cultural reasons.

Recent conservation is being done to save the rhinos.

Weighs up to 1,5 tons and stands about 140- 160cm high at the shoulder. Has eyelashes and hairy fringes on ears and tip of the tail.

Weight:1,760 to 3,080/lbs [800-1400 kg]. Size relative to a 6-ft [2-m] man. A black rhino eats herbivore.
