Intro does not address a theme BEFORE: Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein becomes a social outcast from the beginning of the novel and continues to become more of one as the novel progresses. It all starts once he embraces science.
3
AFTER: Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein becomes a social outcast from the beginning of the novel when he embraces science; however, it is when he loses control of his creation and is consumed with guilt and revenge that he psychologically and permanently alienates himself from the rest of the world. His attempt to defy nature with science demonstrates that while science can benefit mankind, it is our humanity that ensures we survive as members of it.
4
Transition does not relate back to answer to the prompt= plotty trans. BEFORE: When Victor was a teenager he had gotten hold of a few old science books and had become interested in them.
5
AFTER: The initial signs of Victor becoming a social outcast occur when he is still a teenager, and he becomes obsessed with old science books.
6
Body paragraph does not weave the answer to the prompt= sounds unrelated. For months Victor attempts to find the monster. A sailor finds him floating on a piece of ice “frail and weak.” The sailor does not want to ask questions because he realizes this man has been through a lot.
7
With no one left in his world, Victor leaves civilization and attempts to find the monster. Victor’s journey takes him to one of the most isolating settings on earth, the North Pole. When Walton finds him floating on a piece of ice frail and weak, Victor is barely able to communicate. It is now his alienating quest for revenge that has taken its toll, and his role as social outcast is both physical and psychological. (CONTINUE THE PAR. RELATING TO OUTCAST AND LOSS OF HUMANITY)
