形容詞 形容詞單字 我認識這個醜男 Ex. I know the ugly man. 形容詞片語 我認識這個長髮男 Ex. I know the man with long hair. 形容詞子句 我認識這個有長髮的男生 Ex. I know the man ___ has long hair. Ex. I know the man. He has long hair. → I know the man, and he has long hair.

關代主格 / 先行詞為 ( 人 / 物 ) The girl is my friend. The girl is sitting on the bench. → The girl who is sitting on the bench is my friend. I want to buy a cell phone. The cell phone can take pictures. → I want to buy the cell phone which can take pictures.

關代受格 / 先行詞為 ( 人 / 物 ) I adore the girl. You talked to her last night. → I adore the girl whom you talked to last night. The toys were all homemade. I used to play with the toys. → The toys which I used to play with were all homemade.

關代所有格 The classmate is called Cindy. The classmate’s eyes are big. → The classmate whose eyes are big is called Cindy.

關代特殊用法 who whom which 皆可用 that 代替,但前 不可有,及介係詞 關係代名詞的受格可省,但前不可有,及介 係詞 Ex. Is the man (whom/that/X) your mom talked to last night your homeroom teacher? Ex. Is the man to whom your mom talked last night your homeroom teacher?

關係代名詞的主格可省,形成形容詞片語 ( 分詞片語 ) Ex. The girl (who is) standing there seems our new teacher. Ex. I have read the novel (which was) written in French.

五種必用關代 that 的情況 先行詞前有特殊的形容詞 the very, the same, the only Ex. Grace is the very girl that I adore very much. 先行詞前有最高級 Ex. That is the longest train that I have ever seen. 先行詞前有序數 Ex. Grace is the last person that I want to work with.

先行詞為人和物 Ex. The boy and his dog that are playing there live next to me. 先行詞前有疑問詞 Ex. Who is the man that wears the white shoes?

限定子句 vs 非限定子句 Ex. My father who lives in Taipei will come back tomorrow. Ex. My father, who lives in Taipei, will come back tomorrow.
