SIMPLY BRIDGING CONTACTS 1 AND 2 FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS WITH YOUR WET FINGER ACTIVATES THE UNIT. A SHORT SERIES OF BEEPS SIGNALS ACTIVATION. Contact #2 Contact #1
8
THE UNIT BEGINS A SELF-TEST TO INSURE THAT ALL SYSTEMS ARE OPERATING CORRECTLY AND ARE “GOOD TO GO.” ALL DISPLAY SEGMENTS ARE VISIBLE AND 5 AUDIBLE SHORT BEEPS ARE PART OF THE SELF- TEST WHEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED.
9
UPON COMPLETION OF THE SELF-TEST, THE UNIT ENTERS THE SURFACE INTERVAL MODE. THE SURFACE INTERVAL SCREEN IS VISIBLE WHENEVER THE UNIT IS AWAKE AND ON THE SURFACE.
10
IF YOU HAVE RESIDUAL NITROGEN, OR HAVE EXPERIENCED AN ALTITUDE CHANGE, THE SURFACE INTERVAL SCREEN WILL DISPLAY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Maximum Depth (of the last dive) Air Temperature Bottom Time (of the last dive) Surface Time (Amount of time since last dive) Time to Fly (Hours before safely flying) Dive of “Day” (Repetitive Dive Number)
11
AFTER ACTIVATION AND PRIOR TO DESCENDING BELOW 5 FEET, THE UNIT DISPLAYS TEMPERATURE AND THE SURFACE INTERVAL CLOCK RUNS. ALTITUDE APPEARS IN THE ASCENT BAR GRAPH Air Temperature Surface Time Barometric Altitude (2500 feet per bar No bars = 0 - 2500 2 bars = 5000 - 7500)
12
IF A DIVE IS NOT INITIATED WITHIN ONE HOUR, THE UNIT AUTOMATICALLY GOES TO SLEEP TO CONSERVES BATTERY POWER.
13
LET’S GO DIVING
14
AT 5 FT. OF DEPTH, THE DIVE MODE TAKES PRIORITY AND AUTOMATICALLY REPLACES OTHER PROGRAMMING AND DISPLAY MODES.
15
IF ANYTHING IS NOT UP TO THE HIGHEST OPERATING STANDARD, OR IF BATTERY POWER IS INADEQUATE, THE UNIT WILL TURN ITSELF OFF. CHECK YOUR OWNER’S MANUAL FOR BATTERY REPLACEMENT DETAILS.
16
DURING A DIVE, THE FOLLOWING DATA IS AVAILABLE IN A LARGE, EASY TO READ DISPLAY.
17
Water Temperature Maximum Depth (so far this dive) Current Depth Bottom Time (so far this dive) NDC Time Remain (Time you can stay at current depth without Decompression) Ascent Rate (1 bar = 10-19 fpm) Note NDC Legend DIVE MODE
18
A “TWO MINUTE WARNING” IS ISSUED WHEN NO– DECOMPRESSION TIME REACHES 2 MINUTES. THE REMAIN TIME NUMBERS FLASH THE WARNING LEGEND APPEARS AND FLASHES AN AUDIBLE ALARM WILL BE ISSUED
19
SHOULD A NO-DECOMPRESSION LIMIT BE EXCEEDED, THE COMPUTER AUTOMATICALLY ENTERS THE DECOMPRESSION MODE. STAYING AT THE SAME DEPTH OR DEEPER AFTER THE 2 MINUTE WARNING WILL CAUSE THE UNIT TO ENTER THE DECOMPRESSION MODE.
20
COCHRAN DOES NOT INTEND FOR THIS UNIT TO BE DELIBERATELY USED FOR DECOMPRESSION DIVING. HOWEVER, IF YOU PLAN TO PERFORM DECOMPRESSION DIVES, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU HAVE ADEQUATE TRAINING, BACK UP TABLES, AND AT LEAST TWO IDENTICAL COCHRAN COMPUTERS. DECOMPRESSION MODE
21
WHILE IN DECOMPRESSION MODE, THE VALUES IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND REMAIN TIME BOX ALTERNATE BETWEEN THE TIME REQUIRED AT THE DISPLAYED CEILING DEPTH AND THE TOTAL TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ALL DECO STOPS. AT THE 10 FOOT CEILING, TOTAL TIME AND STOP TIMES MAY BE THE SAME AND APPEAR NOT TO ALTERNATE. DECOMPRESSION MODE
22
THE CEILING REPRESENTS A DEPTH ABOVE WHICH THE DIVER MUST NOT ASCEND, UNTIL SUFFICIENT TIME HAS PASSED, IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE THE RISKS OF DECOMPRESSION SICKNESS. THE DEPTH OF THE REQUIRED CEILINGS START AT 10 FEET AND INCREASE IN 10 FOOT INCREMENTS AS THE DECOMPRESSION OBLIGATION INCREASES. DECOMPRESSION MODE
23
IN DECOMPRESSION MODE, THE NDC LEGEND AND VALUES ARE REPLACED BY DECOMPRESSION TIMES & DEC. Deco Stop Time (Alternates between Total Deco Time and time at current Stop) NDC Time Remain (Time you can stay at current depth without Decompression) No-Decompression Time Decompression Time Note NDC Legend Note DEC Legend
24
THE TEMPerature LEGEND AND VALUES ARE REPLACED BY CEILing LEGEND AND VALUES. Deco Ceiling Water Temperature Note TEMP Legend Note CEIL Legend Don’t go above this depth for optimum Decompression
25
IN THIS EXAMPLE, A DECO STOP IS REQUIRED AT 20 FEET FOR 12 MINUTES. Deco Ceiling NOTE THAT THE NDC LEGEND HAS CHANGED TO DEC Deco Stop Time (Alternates between Total Deco Time and time at current Stop)
26
****************************** PLEASE NOTE THAT DEC TIME AND CEIL DEPTH ARE DISPLAYED ONLY WHEN THE DIVER REQUIRES A DECOMPRESSION STOP. IF THE DIVER DOES NOT REQUIRE A DECOMPRESSION STOP, ONLY NDC TIME AND TEMP WILL BE DISPLAYED. IF THE DEC LEGEND AND VALUES ARE REPLACED WITH THE NDC LEGEND AND VALUES, THEN YOU HAVE FULFILLED YOUR DECOMPRESSION OBLIGATIONS. ******************************
27
THE 10 MINUTE PERIOD FOLLOWING A DIVE IS CALLED THE POST-DIVE INTERVAL. THE SURFACE INTERVAL SCREEN IS VISIBLE. THE SURF LEGEND WILL FLASH UNTIL THE 10 MINUTE POST DIVE INTERVAL HAS PASSED.
28
DISPLAYED DATA Air Temperature Maximum Depth (of the last Dive) Surface Time (Amount of time since last Dive) Bottom Time (of the last Dive) Dive of “Day” (Repetitive Dive Number) Time to Fly (Hours before safely flying) (Post Dive Interval and Surface Interval)
29
SHOULD ANOTHER DIVE BE STARTED BEFORE THE 10 MINUTE POST DIVE INTERVAL IS COMPLETE, THE DIVE WILL BE CONSIDERED AN EXTENSION OF THE PREVIOUS DIVE. PROGRAMMING IS DISABLED. NOTE: DURING THE 10 MINUTE POST DIVE INTERVAL, TOUCH CONTACT
30
THE COCHRAN EMC-20H HAS MANY FEATURES THAT ENHANCE DIVER SAFETY WITH MANY USER PREFERENCES. THE DIVER CAN CUSTOMIZE THE COMPUTER TO BETTER REFLECT THE DIVE CONDITIONS AND INDIVIDUAL STYLE OF DIVING. MANY OF THESE FEATURES ARE PROGRAMMABLE AT THE DIVE SITE. OTHER FEATURES WILL REQUIRE THE ANALYST SOFTWARE INTERFACE.
31
TOUCH CONTACT PROGRAMMING MODE CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED WHEN THE UNIT IS IN THE SURFACE INTERVAL.
32
NOW, GRAB THE BATTERY REPLACEMENT TOOL THAT WAS INCLUDED WITH YOUR COCHRAN EMC-20H. IT CAN BE RECOGNIZED BECAUSE IT LOOKS AND SPENDS EXACTLY LIKE A U.S. QUARTER. THIS FIRST TIME THROUGH THE PROCEDURE, WE ARE SIMPLY GOING TO LOOK AT THE SIX PROGRAMMING MENUS.
33
WITH THE SURFACE INTERVAL SCREEN DISPLAYED, TOUCH OR BRIDGE CONTACTS 1 AND 2 WITH A COIN. THE FIRST MENU TO APPEAR IS PdP, PREDIVE PREDICTION.
34
ANOTHER SIMILAR TOUCH WITH A COIN BRINGS THE InF, INFORMATION MENU.
35
THE THIRD COIN TOUCH BRINGS THE dEP AL, DEPTH ALARM MENU. (Depth Alarm set to 124 feet)
36
THE NEXT TOUCH BRINGS THE Con, CONSERVATISM MENU. Conservatism set to 15%
37

48
WHEN CONTACT 1 AND 2 ARE NEXT BRIDGED WITH A COIN, THE SCREEN ADVANCES TO THE NEXT MENU ITEM. ONCE THIS HAPPENS, THE VALUES PROGAMMED ARE STORED IN THE COMPUTER. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU SCROLL THROUGH ALL OF THE PROGRAMMABLE SELECTIONS PRIOR TO BEGINNING A DIVE TO ENSURE THAT THE SETTINGS ARE AS INTENDED.
49
IF SO…FOLLOW THE SAME PROCEDURE AND ADD A BIT OF CONSERVATISM TO YOUR DIVING. ADD FROM 0% - 50% TO ANY OR ALL DIVES. SUPPOSE THAT YOU’RE A BIT DEHYDRATED, A LITTLE FATIGUED, SOMEWHAT OVERWEIGHT, AND HAVE AN OLD INJURY. MAYBE YOU HAVE ANOTHER CONDITION WHICH MIGHT PREDISPOSE YOU TO DECOMPRESSION ILLNESS…..
50
THE NEXT 1 & 2 COIN TOUCH WILL END DEPTH ALARM PROGRAMMING AND OPEN THE MENU USED FOR PROGRAMMING A PERCENT OF ADDITIONAL CONSERVATISM. Conservatism set to 15%
51
A SIMILAR SEQUENCE OF TOUCHING CONTACT 1 & 2 WITH A WET FINGER AND 2 & 3 WITH A COIN WILL ALLOW YOU TO PROGRAM THE 1’S AND 10’S DIGITS OF CONSERVATISM. A CONTACT 1 & 2 COIN TOUCH TAKES YOU TO THE NEXT MENU, TAC dl. A WET FINGER TOUCH WHILE ON THIS SCREEN BEGINS THE PROCEDURE FOR SETTING THE TACLITE “ON TIME” OR DWELL.
52
THE TACLITE IS ACTIVATED BY TAPPING ON THE FACE OF THE COMPUTER. THIS UNIQUE DESIGN LETS YOU READ THE DATA IN LOW- LIGHT CONDITIONS WITHOUT THE WORRIES OF OVER-DEPLETING THE BATTERY. ALSO, “NO WORRIES MATE” ABOUT A SWITCH THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BREAK OR LEAK. YOU SIMPLY PROGRAM THE TACLITE TO REMAIN ON FOR WHATEVER TIME YOU CHOOSE.
53
THE TACLITE FACTORY SETTING IS 10 SECONDS, YOU CAN CHANGE THIS TIME FROM 1-98 SECONDS. SETTING IT TO 00 AND THE TACLITE WILL NEVER TURN ON. A SETTING OF 99 AND THE LIGHT IS ON WHENEVER THE EMC-20H IS AWAKE. On Time set to 10 seconds
54
THE NEXT COIN TOUCH OF CONTACTS 1 & 2 OPENS THE LOGBOOK MODE. THE WET FINGER BETWEEN 1 & 2 WILL ALLOW VIEWING OF DIVE DATA FOR THE MOST RECENT 512 DIVES. Logbook Dive Number
55
TAPPING THE FACE OF YOUR COCHRAN EMC- 20H WILL ACTIVATE AN ALTERNATE SCREEN, WHICH DISPLAYS THE DATE AND TIME OF THE SELECTED DIVE. DayMonthYear Minutes 00 to 59 Hour 00 to 24 THIS DIVE WAS STARTED AT 14:26 (2:46 P.M.) ON 18 December 2001

282
SIDE CONTACTS: THE COCHRAN EMC-20H CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A METAL OBJECT, SALT WATER, FRESH WATER, AND YOUR WET FINGER. Contact #3 Contact #2 Contact #1
283
SIMPLY BRIDGING CONTACTS 1 AND 2 FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS WITH YOUR WET FINGER ACTIVATES THE UNIT. A SHORT SERIES OF BEEPS SIGNALS ACTIVATION. Contact #2 Contact #1
284
THE UNIT BEGINS A SELF-TEST TO INSURE THAT ALL SYSTEMS ARE OPERATING CORRECTLY AND ARE “GOOD TO GO.” ALL DISPLAY SEGMENTS ARE VISIBLE AND 5 AUDIBLE SHORT BEEPS ARE PART OF THE SELF- TEST WHEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED.
285
AFTER ACTIVATION AND PRIOR TO DESCENDING BELOW 5 FEET, THE UNIT DISPLAYS TEMPERATURE AND THE SURFACE INTERVAL CLOCK RUNS. ALTITUDE APPEARS IN ASCENT BAR GRAPH Air Temperature Surface Time Barometric Altitude (2500 feet per bar No bars = 0 - 2500 2 bars = 5000 - 7500)
286
UPON COMPLETION OF THE SELF-TEST, THE UNIT ENTERS THE SURFACE INTERVAL MODE. THE ALTERNATE SCREEN CAN BE VIEWED BY TAPPING ON THE FACE OF THE UNIT. MAIN SCREEN ALTERNATE SCREEN
287
IF YOU HAVE RESIDUAL NITROGEN, OR HAVE EXPERIENCED AN ALTITUDE CHANGE, THE SURFACE INTERVAL SCREEN WILL DISPLAY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Maximum Depth (of the last dive) Air Temperature Bottom Time (of the last dive) Surface Time (Amount of time since last dive) Time to Fly (Hours before safely flying) Dive of “Day” (Repetitive Dive Number)

289
IF A DIVE IS NOT INITIATED WITHIN ONE HOUR, THE UNIT CONSERVES BATTERY POWER AND AUTOMATICALLY GOES TO SLEEP.
290
LET’S GO DIVING
291
AT 5 FT. OF DEPTH, THE DIVE MODE TAKES PRIORITY AND AUTOMATICALLY REPLACES OTHER PROGRAMMING AND DISPLAY MODES.
292
IF ANYTHING IS NOT UP TO THE HIGHEST OPERATING STANDARD, OR IF BATTERY POWER IS INADEQUATE, THE UNIT WILL TURN ITSELF OFF. CHECK YOUR OWNER’S MANUAL FOR BATTERY REPLACEMENT DETAILS.
293
DURING A DIVE, THE FOLLOWING DATA IS AVAILABLE IN A LARGE, EASY TO READ DISPLAY.
294
Water Temperature Current DepthCurrent FO2 Bottom Time (so far this dive) NDC Time Remain (Time you can stay At current depth without Decompression) Ascent Rate (1 bar = 10-19 fpm) MAIN SCREEN VISIBLE DURING A DIVE Note NDC Legend

296
A “TWO MINUTE WARNING” IS ISSUED WHEN NO– DECOMPRESSION TIME REACHES 2 MINUTES. THE REMAIN TIME NUMBERS FLASH THE WARNING LEGEND APPEARS AND FLASHES AN AUDIBLE ALARM WILL BE ISSUED
297
SHOULD A NO-DECOMPRESSION LIMIT BE EXCEEDED, THE COMPUTER AUTOMATICALLY ENTERS THE DECOMPRESSION MODE. STAYING AT THE SAME DEPTH OR DEEPER AFTER THE 2 MINUTE WARNING WILL CAUSE THE UNIT TO ENTER THE DECOMPRESSION MODE.
298
COCHRAN DOES NOT INTEND FOR THIS UNIT TO BE DELIBERATELY USED FOR DECOMPRESSION DIVING. HOWEVER, IF YOU PLAN TO PERFORM DECOMPRESSION DIVES, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU HAVE ADEQUATE TRAINING, BACK UP TABLES, AND AT LEAST TWO IDENTICAL COCHRAN COMPUTERS. DECOMPRESSION MODE
299
WHILE IN DECOMPRESSION MODE, THE VALUES IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND REMAIN TIME BOX ALTERNATE BETWEEN THE TIME REQUIRED AT THAT CEILING DEPTH AND THE TOTAL TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ALL DECO STOPS. AT THE 10 FOOT CEILING, TOTAL TIME AND STOP TIMES MAY BE THE SAME AND APPEAR NOT TO ALTERNATE. DECOMPRESSION MODE
300
301
IN DECOMPRESSION MODE, THE NDC LEGEND AND VALUES ARE REPLACED BY DECOMPRESSION TIMES, DEC. Deco Stop Time (Alternates between Total Deco Time and time at current Stop) NDC Time Remain (Time you can stay at current depth without Decompression) No-Decompression Time Decompression Time Note NDC Legend Note DEC Legend
302
THE TEMP LEGEND AND VALUES ARE REPLACED BY CEIL LEGEND AND VALUES. Deco Ceiling Water Temperature Note TEMP Legend Note CEIL Legend Don’t go above this depth for optimum Decompression
303
Deco Ceiling IN THIS EXAMPLE, A DECO STOP IS REQUIRED AT 20 FEET FOR 12 MINUTES. NOTE THAT THE NDC LEGEND HAS CHANGED TO DEC Deco Stop Time (Alternates between Total Deco Time and time at current Stop)

305
THE 10 MINUTE PERIOD FOLLOWING A DIVE IS CALLED THE POST-DIVE INTERVAL. THE SURFACE INTERVAL SCREEN IS VISIBLE. THE SURF LEGEND WILL FLASH UNTIL THE 10 MINUTE POST DIVE INTERVAL HAS PASSED.
306
DISPLAYED DATA Air Temperature Maximum Depth (of the last Dive) Surface Time (Amount of time since last Dive) Bottom Time (of the last Dive) Dive of “Day” (Repetitive Dive Number) Time to Fly (Hours before safely flying) (Post Dive Interval and Surface Interval)
307
SHOULD ANOTHER DIVE BE STARTED BEFORE THE 10 MINUTE POST DIVE INTERVAL IS COMPLETE, THE DIVE WILL BE CONSIDERED AN EXTENSION OF THE PREVIOUS DIVE. PROGRAMMING IS DISABLED. NOTE: DURING THE 10 MINUTE POST DIVE INTERVAL, TOUCH CONTACT
308
309
TOUCH CONTACT PROGRAMMING MODE CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED WHEN THE UNIT IS IN THE SURFACE INTERVAL.
310
NOW, GRAB THE BATTERY REPLACEMENT TOOL THAT WAS INCLUDED WITH YOUR COCHRAN EMC-20H. IT CAN BE RECOGNIZED BECAUSE IT LOOKS AND SPENDS EXACTLY LIKE A U.S. QUARTER. THIS FIRST TIME THROUGH THE PROCEDURE, WE ARE SIMPLY GOING TO LOOK AT THE TEN PROGRAMMING MENUS.

IT IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU SCROLL THROUGH ALL OF THE PROGRAMMABLE MENUS PRIOR TO BEGINNING A DIVE TO ENSURE THAT THE LIMITS ARE AS INTENDED.
332
IF SO…FOLLOW THE SAME PROCEDURE TO ADD A BIT OF CONSERVATISM TO YOUR DIVING.
333
THE NEXT 1 & 2 COIN TOUCH WILL END DEPTH ALARM PROGRAMMING AND OPEN THE MENU USED FOR PROGRAMMING A PERCENT OF CONSERVATISM. Conservatism set to 15%
334
A SIMILAR SEQUENCE OF TOUCHING CONTACTS 1 & 2 WITH A WET FINGER AND 2&3 WITH A COIN WILL ALLOW YOU TO PROGRAM THE 1’S AND 10’S DIGIT OF ADDITIONAL CONSERVATISM. A CONTACT 1 & 2 COIN TOUCH TAKES YOU TO THE NEXT MENU, PO2 1. A WET FINGER TOUCH WHILE ON THIS SCREEN BEGINS THE PROCEDURE FOR SETTING THE PO2 VALUE FOR BLEND #1.
335
