2.  France was effectively expelled from the New World!  Britain lays claim to the Ohio River Valley  Spain awarded the Louisiana territory  England incurred massive debts fighting the war

4.  Britain imposes and reinforces taxes on the Colonies  Sugar Act- tax on sugar and other imported goods- “No taxation without representation”  Currency Act- disallowed the Colonies to print their own money, made them dependent on England  Proclamation of 1763- prohibited colonist from settling in lands west of the Appellation Mountains.

5.  Enacted March 22, 1775  The Stamp Act required Americans to purchase tax stamps for any printed documents including newspapers, legal documents, marriage licenses and more
