A verb is a word used to express an action, a condition, or a state of being.
There are 3 types of Verbs.
Action Verbs
Linking Verbs
Helping Verbs

4. Action Verbs An ACTION VERB tells what the subject does.
Physical Action: Run, Jump, swim
Mental Action: wish, hope, dream

5. Linking Verbs
A LINKING VERB links its subject to a word in the predicate.
FORMS OF BE: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been, have, has, had

6. Helping Verbs
HELPING VERBS help main verbs express action or precise shades of meaning.
