William Shakespeare Shakespeare was born in a town in England called Stratford-upon- Avon in 1564. Eventually he moved to London and began writing plays. He died in 1616.

Julius Caesar Cassius is afraid that Julius Caesar will make himself Emperor of Rome instead of keeping Rome a republic. Cassius persuades his friend Brutus to help him kill Caesar.

Your Turn In Shakespeare’s play Antony and Cleopatra, he made up a new word for Cleopatra to use. “I’ll unhair thy head!” she tells a messenger who brings her a message she dislikes.

Was Shakespeare a Plagiarist? Shakespeare got the story of Julius Caesar from a book written by a Roman man named Plutarch, Lives of the Roman Emperors. Shakespeare changed a few things to make the story more dramatic.

Shakespearean Insults Go to the “Shakespearean Insults” link on Ms. Sanders’ website. Follow the instructions on the website to create your own Shakespearean insult. Use a dictionary to translate your insult into modern English. Put it in your Google Doc.

Roman Times Commercial You and your group will make a commercial about an aspect of Roman life. Go to the website “Ancient Rome” posted on Ms. Sanders’ website. Choose one subpage to make your commercial about.

Commercial Putting people into your commercial can help draw your target audience. Have them doing something that relates to your business/product so your commercial doesn't look like a photo that's come to life.

Commercial You may use a Powerpoint ONLY to show a background image (ie. a restaurant). No text allowed on the Powerpoint other than the name of your product. You may bring props (ie. if you’re selling olive oil, bring olive oil, or plates, etc.). DON’T go under 40 seconds or over 60 seconds!
