Think about things that come in pairs. Make a list of as many of those things as you can.

Turn to a partner and share your list. How many different things did you think of together?

This is 1 shoe. What would we need to get a pair of shoes? Does it make sense to say that we would need to double the shoe to make a pair?

Choose something below to double. First, count how many of something there are. Then, using the “Making Doubles” sheet to record, double that number.Making Doubles Write a number sentence to show what you did. Draw a picture to go with you number sentence.

When you finish……. Think of some other numbers you can double. Make a list of those numbers in your math journal and try to draw a model of them. - OR - Choose a “Doubles” folder game to play with a partner.
