Submission doc: IEEE 802.15-SGAP3a-02/119r0March 2002 Domenico Porcino, Philips + Gadi Shor, Wisair Slide 9 Wireless Interoperability Necessary the ability to run simultaneous parallel multiple wireless links (eg. Laptop to Projector, plus set-top box to TV, etc) High Aggregate interference rejection (to allow possible simultaneous use of UWB positioning devices). Must be interference resistant and respect existing radio links (Bluetooth, 802.11). Must allow operation of GSM/3G phones also in close vicinity (<1m)

Submission doc: IEEE 802.15-SGAP3a-02/119r0March 2002 Domenico Porcino, Philips + Gadi Shor, Wisair Slide 10 Other Elements Cost –target bom (including antenna) must be < 10$ (< 5$ preferred) for volume adoption. Must be comparable to the current Bluetooth chipset prices. Range –for use in homes, offices and conference rooms. Propagation through walls is useful. –Minimum range: 10m, ideal target: 30-50m useful for home links.

Submission doc: IEEE 802.15-SGAP3a-02/119r0March 2002 Domenico Porcino, Philips + Gadi Shor, Wisair Slide 11 Other Elements Positioning –Ability for the device to distinguish the place where it is and adapt its set-up. Size factor –must be easy to integrate in current and future common form factors for consumer electronics. Specially important for portable devices Ease of set-up –Must work first time at the press of a button
