ASB 222: Buried Cities and Lost Tribes—Archaeology through its most important discoveries: human origins, Pompeii, King Tut, the Holy Land, Southwest Indians, and methods of field archaeology. ASU 101: The ASU Experience— Students will learn ASU's mission as the New American University, entrepreneurial approaches to problem solving, solutions to sustainability challenges, the importance of social embeddedness, examine the concept of academic integrity, the value of engaging in research activities, and learn about taking an interdisciplinary perspective. ENG 102: First Year Compostition—Critical reading and writing; emphasizes strategies of academic discourse. Research paper required. HST 109: United States to 1865—Growth of the Republic from colonial times through the Civil War period. SPA 102: Elementary Spanish—Fundamentals of the language.
