2 DEFINITION An adjective is a word that describes a noun. It tells what kind or how many.

3 SENTENCES I live in a big house. Big describes house. It tells what kind. My house has ten windows. Ten describes windows. It tells how many.

4 PRACTICE Read each sentence below. Write the adjectives you see. One sentence has two adjectives! 1. The house has eight rooms. 2. I live in a quaint neighborhood. 3. Plants grow in a spacious yard. 4. The beautiful kitchen has two doorways. 5. My bedroom has a roomy closet.
