8. Variation of wood properties and wood quality Caesalpinia platyloba („Chacte – viga“) and Cordia dodecandra („Siricote“) are two native tree species in Mexico. Both are not used for plantations. valuable tree species producing wood with good characteristics and properties; wood is currently used in building constructions, railway sleepers, high quality furniture and handcrafts; the wood of both species shows a good possibility for the export to the global market (especially Europe);
