Bookings will take place on a first come, first serve basis. Email your preferred days and class periods to ckutsup@summit.k12.nj.us with “TV Studio Appointment” in the subject line, ideally at least 1 week in advance. ckutsup@summit.k12.nj.us If you would like to come to the TV studio and/or for me to come to your classroom beforehand to meet with your students and instruct them on the process of preparing scripts and media, as well as using the TV studio, please indicate that in your booking email.

The Broadcast Media class meets during Period 1; therefore, permission from Mr. Sears is needed to book during Period 1. You may book up to: 3 days in one week 3 times per day 3 consecutive days The amount of days in one week and the consecutive days can be flexible depending on other scheduled appointments by teachers. If you are sending part of your class to the studio, please send their names and any necessary information (IEP, medical, etc.) so students are properly supervised.

Once signed up, please keep in mind that before you have your students come down to the studio, they must upload their scripts and pictures/videos as separate documents by email to ckutsup@summit.k12.nj.us with “Media for TV Studio Use” in the subject line or to the hsvideo Server at least 2-3 days in advance. To upload media to the server, refer to Uploading Media to hsvideo Server document on the Hilltopper TV website as a guide. ckutsup@summit.k12.nj.usUploading Media to hsvideo Server Should I not receive these items prior to the filming days, those students who are not prepared will be sent back to you with instructions to complete and upload such items before filming can begin.

Guideline for studio preparation can all be found on the Hilltopper TV website at: https://summithilltoppertv.wordpress.com/forshsteachers/tv-studio-how-to- documents/ Scripts must be in a.rtf (Rich Text Format) file in order for them to be read on the teleprompter. Any other formats will not work. Students must indicate which pictures/videos will be used where in their scripts by specifying file name(s) in the right place and order within their script. If your students want to use YouTube videos as part of their recordings, they have to see me at least 1 week in advance so that I may show them how to do so. Videos need to be converted to an MP4 in order to be used on our systems. If the hsvideo server is accessible, a folder will be created for you and each of your classes where your students may upload their pictures and videos to. Please instruct students to use the checklist and the How-To Guide that I have prepared for them before they come down to the studio. This will make the use of the studio smoother and quicker.
