2 Sacramento County Information Technology Plan Progress with the 1 st plan adopted in 2003 Highlights for the proposed 2004 plan The purpose of information technology is to enable the County to achieve its business goals and objectives.

10 The value of our IT Plan … assists decision makers in prioritizing and maximizing our investments. Information Technology Policy Board This is a ‘best practices’ model for others to follow. It is now being used in many states and counties nationwide. META Group … the plan reduces business risk and enables organization agility. Facility Planning Policy Board Our own employees: It’s useful & easy to follow Right to the point Provides visibility Improves effectiveness Improves service delivery

11 The proposed 2004 IT Plan Today I am recommending that your Board approve the 2004 County of Sacramento Information Technology Plan. Questions? Comments? The County has some extraordinary challenges in the months and years ahead. A major goal of the plan is to assist the Board of Supervisors and other County decision makers.
