H-1B Funds Fee Revenues BasedUse Limited to: Authorized by the American Competitiveness Act & Workforce Development Improvement Act of 1998 Providing job training and related services Development and implementation of model activities

Generally Allowable Costs of Training Entrepreneur Programs Outreach/Marketing for Programs Curriculum Development and Dissemination Equipment, supplies and capital assets ◦Used for training, not for production purposes ◦Equipment (over $5K) must be approved by NoRTEC

Training May Include: Costs of instructors, space, supplies In-house trainers Curriculum Development Ancillary Costs Training must be for jobs in the six high- growth industry clusters indentified in the WIRED grant.

Entrepreneur Training AllowableUnallowable Training for newly created jobs Training & technical assistance for entrepreneurs Outreach strategies (Venture Island) Connection to Capital activities Train employees on new product line Seed Money or capitalization grants Funding of Research and Development activities No development of a product Prize Money

Outreach/Marketing Employer and Partner Recruitment Public Relations Activities Provide Information on Project Goals Market Research High Growth Industries Training Development Needs

Caveat All materials developed with the grant funds for public dissemination must acknowledge the Federal funding source. This includes all Brochures, logos, and Brands, and other public materials.

Consultant Fees Defined as “expert in field” providing advice and opinions Maximum daily rate of $500.00 Salary rate for actual work performed Excludes “professional services” Buying a product or service is different than a consultant
