3 New Curriculum Interesting new topics! History: Saxons & Scots, Vikings, Local History Study. Geography: Rivers, Mountains & The Water Cycle ICT: E Safety, Programming, computing & editing Maths- Problem Solving, Times Tables, etc PE- Inspiring dance for all.

4 Levels?! Levels have gone! We are now working towards end of year Age Related Expectations. Linked to the age of the child. More focus on deepening understanding, rather than broadening.

5 Homework Goes home on a Wednesday. Comes in to school on a Monday. Range of subjects Projects Spellings It is the perfect opportunity for the children to show you their understanding. They will already have the skills to do it, learnt at school. If there is a reason that your child cannot do the homework by Monday, you will need to write a letter to their teacher to inform them of the reason for this.

6 Reading Reading books need to be in school every day. At least 3 times a week at home. Children will become more independent in changing their books as time goes on. Reading at school- Individual reading and Guided Reading

7 PE Kits Games Track Suit and Trainers Hall based PE Red School PE T-Shirt, navy shorts and plimsolls Kit should be in school every day. PE will now be blocked in sessions across the term. If there is a reason that your child cannot take part in a PE session, you will need to write a letter to their teacher to inform them.

8 Bits and Bobs… Letters Parent Mail Milk Break Time Snack Clubs Spanish, Music Year 4 Swimming Lessons Hawley Lake

9 Any Questions… What to do if… If it is an urgent matter, inform the office so that they can let us know or wrote a note. If you need to see us, please collect a green form from the office.
