Functionalist Sociologists following this view feel the functions performed by education work to maintain the stability and operation of society.

Most important functions A. Teaching Knowledge and skills -usually done through a school curriculum (Ex: math, science, social studies, English, language).

Conflict Perspective Believe that the systems serves to limit the potential of certain individuals and groups to gain power and social rewards
