4. As you start driving, get a feel for a the road. A vehicle will skid if a motorist ◦accelerates too quickly ◦Turns too fast ◦Brakes improperly  Keep a foot on the brake but do not pump!  Hitting the brakes too hard could cause the wheels to lock

5. When you start to skid… What causes skidding? If the vehicle starts to slide, take foot off the gas pedal. ◦Turn into the direction that you are skidding. DO NOT OVERSTEER ◦Avoid using the brakes and always look in the direction to want to go ◦You will “feel” when the car is back under control and then straighten the wheels out.
