Work-related stress Work-related violence Lone working Educational visits Control of contractors Electricity Fire safety Manual handling Asbestos Housekeeping Reason why these topics have been selected - i.e., HSE statistics, higher risk activities, common health and safety issues. Ability to adapt module content to delegates or employer based on desired outcomes. Each module covering national perspectives, both inside and outside the sector, legal requirements for the topic and key management activities required to manage the risk. Comment about the information designed to complement the arrangements already in place in the school, not to contradict it. The course is designed to increase awareness of managers therefore raising compliance with employer’s arrangements using proactive, risk based strategies.

Distance learning with support for remaining modules Day 2 - Consolidation of work to date Group exercises Formal assessment Project Preparation Course duration - normally weeks Designed to reduce costs to well below normal fees for IOSH courses run with 4 or 5 days attendance. support will be with the course tutor, Day 2 will involve group exercises to put into practice the skills developed during the course, e.g., general risk assessments and others including stress, manual handling etc.... Discussion of the project, noting that it will be based upon their own workplace allowing the project to be used as a tool for delegates on completion of the course.
