Never turn down IRF – Incident Report Form Deal with it Warning, Break Detention, After School Detention, Fining, etc. Feedback

TEACHER LEVEL – Green Zone. Unrecorded measures and punishments for minor incidents: 1. Verbal warnings in class (3 times) 2.Standing for whole lesson at the back of the class with its book. 3. Sitting next to the teacher facing the board. Recorded measures and punishments for serious incidents: (At this stage IRF needs to be filled in and submitted to Student Affairs) 1.Talking to the form tutor. 2. Stopping the student from playing sports lesson for that week. 3. Break detention. 4. Fining upto YR2000(chewing gum/breakage) 5. Invite parents for meeting. 6. Place the child on school report – monitored by teacher on daily basis. 7. Serious incident /out of control,send the child with a note to HOS. Note: Emergency / Serious issues could be directed to Principal. YGT LEVEL – Blue Zone. When to pass it on to the YGT? When a teacher exhausted all the above measures and feels that now it needs support on YGT level. At this stage, copy of IRF to be submitted to YGT along with other necessary details YGT will choose best course of action according to the situation which may include: 1. YGT will collect report about the child from all the teachers to get a broader picture. 2. School Detention & Counseling. 3. Invite parents for meeting. 4. Place the child on school report – monitored by YGT on daily basis. 5. Expel the child for 1 week. 6. Home School Agreement (last resort). Only in rare cases, where YGT team is facing un-resolvable issue with a difficult child / parent (or situation) will consult or pass it to HOS. Note: Emergency / Serious issues could be directed to Principal. HOS LEVEL – Orange Zone: Once it is passed on to HOS, it should deal with it fairly and justly and must consult and inform YGT Team before any decision is taken. HOS would also makes recommendations to Principal. Note: Emergency / Serious issues could be directed to Principal. PRINCIPAL LEVEL – Red Zone : If a problem can’t be resolved by HOS, only then it should be passed on to Principal as last resort / Final decision. HOW TO DEAL WITH A DIFFICULT CHILD? Role of Teacher, Class Teacher, HOD, YGT Team, HOS and Principal.

YGT’S IN ACTION 1.YGT’s will monitor morning parade and student lateness in the morning. 2.BREAK TIME: 3 minutes before the bell rings, all YGT’S will be in the field and will make sure that all students are returned back to their classrooms in an orderly fashion. 3.YGT’s EXTENDED SUPPORT could provide support and even classroom assistance at the request of a teacher. YGT – Check & Balances 1.YGT meeting once a month conducted by Lead YGT. (Waseem) 2.YGT’s will be asked on performance for their year groups. Concerned Teachers are welcome to join the meeting as well. 3.Difficulties, problems and issues would be discussed.
