4. H.W. Answers to 1.2 E#10 and 11 E#10. a. One way to complete the simulation is to put all the ages on cards and randomly select four and calculate the average. The simulation can be performed a number of times and that data could be plotted on a dotplot. The other method is to assign each of the ages a number and then use a random number generator to select 4. Once the 4 are selected, find the average age represented by the four numbers. Then a dotplot could be used to represent the results. b. The average age from the simulation will vary. c. According to the dotplot it appears only 3 of the 200 simulations produced an average as high as 57.5. This would be 1.5%, which is less than the 2.5%, and can qualify as discrimination in a court case.

6. Against All Odds What is Statistics? Answer the questions in sentences. I will collect these and grade these for participation while you take the quiz after. This was recorded in the 80’s so be prepared for some interesting fashion. In between answering the questions, as an option you can make comments on fashion at the bottom of your sheet. If there is more than 40 minutes remaining after the video, we can see if anyone want so share their comments on the fashion.
