FLUP - Elena Zagar Galvão Dubbing: Definition (Chaume, 2006) Type of Audiovisual Translation mainly used in Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Brazil, China, Japan, most Asian countries and some North-African countries, consisting of a replacement of the orginal track of a film containing the source language dialogs, for another track on which transalated dialogs in the target langauge are recorded.

FLUP - Elena Zagar Galvão Dubbing: Definition (Chaume, 2006) The remaining tracks are kept untouched (the soundtrack – including music and special effects – and the tracks containing the images). The term revoicing can also be used as a synonym vor dubbing, but it also includes the process of intralingual postsynchronization (when the original dialogs of a film are subsequently recorded in a studio). When revoicing is used as a synonymn for dubbing or interlingual postsynchronization, the tem includes all dubbing types (dubbing proper, partial dubbing, narration, voice-over).
