What’s Digital Storytelling? Digital Storytelling is simply using digital media to tell a story. –Silent Narrative, using words and background music –Vocalized Narrative, biographical, autobiographical –Short, simple, and succinct

Project - Topics Pick a Topic –Biographical: any person appropriate for school –Autobiographical: a story about you –Slice of Life: thoughts about random universal topics –Thought Provoking: Seeking to elicit a strong emotion from audience

Project - Parameters Movie Layout typed on a Word template 8-10 Pictures/Slides (at least 3 pictures) No more than a sentence on each picture/slide, phrases are okay too Use correct grammar The audience needs to be able to easily express what the movie is about. Due September 18 th, 1 st Test Grade (75%)

Project – Grading Guidelines Story Line: interesting, clear, relatable, easily understood – 60% of Grade Pictures/Slides: Used to illustrate message and clarify author’s intentions – 20% of Grade Fluidity: Progression of story elements are smooth and always point to the main idea of the story – 10% of Grade Ownership: Movie reflects the author’s voice and personal touch – 10% of Grade
