3. Teaching styles There is a spectrum of teaching styles just as there is a spectrum of learning styles. There is no ‘right’ teaching style – excellent teachers exist all along the spectrum. ILT does not constrain you to one delivery style. The following slides show a variety of styles you can use, whether you are working with one laptop and a data projector or with a roomful of computers. Each group in turn comes up, presents scenario and tries to anticipate, then explain, the results. 10. Scenario 4 Practitioner links a computer to data projector and uses an interactive Word document containing list of concepts relevant to the course. Practitioner questions different learners to work out a mind map relating the concepts together. 11. Scenario 5 Practitioner links a computer to a data projector with stimulus material (that is, photo, text, graph) from the course. In groups, learners draw out key ideas from the stimulus material. Either a) each group presents their interpretation to the class or b) the results of a teacher-led discussion are captured on computer and displayed. The results may also be saved and printed. 12. Scenario 1 Learners have tasks which they have to work through in sequence on their own. Different learners move at different speeds.
