What is conservation? Energy conservation refers to efforts made to reduce energy consumption. o this applies to all aspects of life, transportation, residential life and business. Benefits o leads to financial benefits: typical US family overspends on heating, electricity, etc o reduces air pollution

How does it work? buy products that aim to be more energy efficient use less

What does it best suited to do? Conservation is applied to many major residential/commercial programs o appliances (National Appliance Energy Conservation Act) o transportation o water heating o lighting o heating/cooling

How realistic is Conservation? Conservation is entirely realistic due to the oncoming energy crisis. Residential energy intensity, measured as delivered energy used per household, declines about 27% from 2005 to 2040. From 1950 to 2011, energy intensity in the United States decreased by 58% per real dollar of GDP

Will we be applying conservation in the near future? We will most definitely be applying conservation in the near future as it is the only viable option for human beings.

Advantages and Disadvantages Disadvantages: o using less means having less o it is more expensive to find renewable resources and apply them Advantages: o we get to save the world from disaster! o finding renewable resources means conservation of the environment for generations to come.
