Vocab Cards Unit 4 Conquistador – a Spanish adventurer or conqueror in the new world during the 16 th century. Conquest – anything acquired by conquering, as a nation, a territory, or spoils. Empire – a group of nations or peoples ruled by one powerful government: usually a territory of greater extent than a kingdom. Cultural Diffusion – spreading of culture between different groups.
