Step 1. Evaluate your population o Should be done early and often o Know your students oStudent Demographics oCampus Culture

Step 2. Generate the ideas: o What do you want to achieve? learning objectives o Brainstorming: First, Best and Different o Budget, yes….Roadblock, no o Include population representatives, if possible

Step 3. Set Date o Consider conflicts (university, other major programs) o Contact appropriate venue oHow much will it cost? Shop around. oSeating for number of participants? oWhat type of room set-up will you need?

Step 4. Make Arrangements oContact and confirm any speakers/vendors o Contract o Rider o Be aware of your institution’s signature and payment procedures! oFood and Beverages oTransportation Arrangements oAudio/Visual oHandouts oBack-Up Plan?
