3. Research  Media piracy includes the illegal downloading of music, movies, and software.  The two primary organizations that monitor the downloading of music and movies are the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

4. Research  There can be serious legal and financial consequences to illegal downloading.  These can include: up to five years in jail, fines and charges of up to $150,000 per file, and any other charges that might be brought up in court.

5. Research  When software is pirated, consumers, software developers, and resellers are harmed  Piracy is a form of theft and robs people of their works.
