2 1. BE INTERESTED Pay attention as you are introduced to someone new!

3 2. VERIFY Verify what he or she wants to be called. The name tag may be wrong or too formal.

4 3. THE FOREHEAD! Imagine the name written on their forehead-- silly ideas can produce positive results! Franklin Roosevelt did this—and amazed many!

5 4. IMAGINE WRITING THEIR NAME Experts suggest that seeing yourself write the name improves remembering the name!

6 5. RELATE THE NAME Associate the name with an image or famous person.

7 6. USE NAME Use their name frequently—3 or 4 times during the conversation.

8 7. RECORD THE NAME Create a “new contacts” file and jot down notes about the person, place, and conversation.

9 WHAT ABOUT A NAME TAG? Print your name using a bold colored pen and large print. Place your tag on your right shoulder.

10 WHAT IF YOU FORGET LATER ON? 1.Look delighted to see the person, lock eyes, extend a warm “good to see you again” expression and handshake. Ask someone later. OR

11 WHAT IF YOU FORGET LATER ON? 2.with the same warmth, try to be more direct: “I remember you well, but your name has slipped my mind” approach.
