Proprietary Information The Future of Voice Services is … is… Multimedia (Voice + Video) Doron Meirom, President/VP Sales October 5th, 2010
2
Proprietary Information 2 2 Why Multimedia Services? Enables better sharing of information and emotions Provides a richer and more informative real-time communication experience Offers service providers exciting new ways to monetize services Consumes much more bandwidth than voice resulting in better promotion by operators who have already invested in increased bandwidth “A picture is worth a thousand words”

Proprietary Information 3 3 When will multimedia prevail? Prediction: Multi-media services will prevail when the cost per multi-media port will be similar to the cost per port of a voice port in Y2K. Assuming the cost per port declines according to Moore’s law (half every 18 month), and the cost of a multi-media port is 100 times higher then a voice port: ~7*18 month = 10.5 years 2010 When bandwidth will permit at least 0.5Mbps per user at no extra cost (flat rate) LTE, PON When the application engines, the API’s and the underlying technologies will be mature We’re already there

Proprietary Information 4 4 What services will prevail? According to our accumulated experience as a technology enabler in the real-time multimedia space … Services are very much country and regional dependent: India: 3G-324M based IVVR is predicted to be a killer app. Korea, Japan: Fixed line IMS based Video conferencing and video messaging Services need to support both high-end VGA/720p based video as well as low-end 64kbps based video Basically every voice based service can be enriched by the multimedia experience. Vendors and system integrators therefore, need to offer a platform that will deliver a multitude of applications.
