2. * Ponza, Italy is an island in Italy. * It is a very small fishing community. * To buy clothes, food, or anything else you have to take a boat to Rome. It takes two hours to get to Rome by boat. * Pirates lived in Ponza. * I still have family that live there.

3. * Food is the center of Italian culture. * Ponza is a fishing community they eat a lot of seafood. That is also the only work industry on the island. * They grow their own fruits and vegetables. * My family cans their own tomatoes so they can make fresh sauce every Sunday. * You need sauce to make my favorite Italian dish, Pizza!

4. * The language they speak is Italian * Monga= eat * Shosh= blow * Nana= Grandmother

5. * People from Ponza are very religious. Their traditions are surrounded by religious celebrations, food, and family.

6. * All of the pictures in my power point come from my Nana. She let me use them. They come from her trip to Ponza. * Thank you Nana for teaching me about Ponza.
