His family was very poor so his father has multiple jobs.

Christopher Columbus came back to Europe with the discovery of new land. He discovered new land that other people would explore.
6
People can come back to the "new land" and build colonies and get riches for their kingdoms, like bear fur.
7
Christopher Columbus left with 3 ships and only came back with 1 because one of them was damaged and the other was taken by a captain who wanted to arrive back at Europe first so he would get all the credit. Christopher Columbus stopped at the Canary islands to get more food and water then left the Canaries on September 6th. The Indians that met them when they arrived at the Caribbean islands thought Christopher and his sailors had come out of the sky so they gave him food, presents and hospitality. Christopher Columbus named the island he landed on San Salvador. Christopher called the people living on the island Indians because he thought his ships had landed close to the Indies. The Santa Maria was a kind of ship called the Nao. He miss treated the natives and sent them as slaves to Spain. He made others look for gold.
8
The impact of the expedition is having new information for maps. Another impact of this discovery is that he brought slaves back to Spain. Christopher Columbus also brought riches back to Spain.
9
Christopher faced a lot of obstacles some of them are rocs on the shores of the Dominican Republic. Christopher also faced Native Americans rebelling. Christopher and his crew starved and some died from hunger.
10
Christopher Columbus communicated with the Natives using sign language. Later, he started learning Native American words like this: A native american pointed or acted something and said a word to describe it.
11
The 3 ships: the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria The Nina is a caravel Christopher Columbus when he was small This is a painting of what happened when Christopher landed in America. I think this is a picture of when the Santa Maria sunk because it crashed into rocks.
12
The Natives think he is a god that came from the sky. They give him gold and everything he asks. He gives them bells and other cool things that come from Europe like rifles and other weapons that hurt. Christopher isn’t happy, he captures many slaves to bring them back to Spain.
13
Christopher thinks he has arrived in India, but now everyone knows he is wrong. When he dies, he still doesn’t know that he discovered America!
14
The queen said that the first person to find land will be rewarded. One of the sailors found land, but Christopher claimed that he saw it first.
15
Christopher says that the land he found is in Spain’s possesion when he landed, but it really was the Natives who had it first. Christopher doesn’t care…
