1. Welcome to Winans Elementary School

2. Here is a picture of your new school.

3. This is the door you will come in. When you hear the bell, it’s time to line up at the door and wait for your teacher to let you in.

4. After you come in, kids need to hang up their coat and backpack in the coatroom.

5. Next the kids come and sit on the blue carpet.

6. This is Mrs. Germain. She is one of our kindergarten teachers. Every morning the teachers take attendance. When your teacher calls your name you need to say “Good Morning”.

7. We also listen to announcements, say the Pledge of Allegiance and listen to music everyday. It’s important to be a good listener. Next your teacher will tell you what the schedule for the day will look like. At Winans School we go to a different special everyday.

8. This is a picture of the art room. This is our art teacher, Mrs. Liggett. In art we get to draw, color, cut and use glue. Sometimes we get to take our projects home. One of our specials is art.

9. One of our specials is music with Mrs. Nauss Here is a picture of our music room. In music we get to sing songs and play instruments.

10. We go to the library every week with Mrs. Lott We get to check out a book and take it home. We have lots of great books in our library.

11. We also go to gym with Coach Here is a picture of our gym. In gym class we get to run and play games.

12. After our special, our teacher picks us up. We go back to the room and sit on the blue carpet. Whenever we sit on the blue carpet we need to listen to the teacher.

13. Sometimes we have centers.

14. Everyday we bring a snack from home. Your teacher will tell you when it is “snack time”.

15. This is our playground. Sometimes we have recess and go outside to play. Sometimes we stay inside and play. All the kids like “play time”.

16. Then it’s time to go home. We wait on the blue carpet until our teacher calls our name.

17. We have lots of helpers at Winans. Mr. Midgett Ms. Nettles Ms. Gunn

19. Miss Tammy is our custodian. She keeps our school clean. Mrs. Gibbs is our school secretary. She works in the front office.

20. Our principal is Mrs. Talifarro. She is in charge of the whole school

21. And my name is Mrs. Bates. I am the speech and language teacher. We are all excited that you are coming to our school. See you soon!
