Background on why this upgrade is essential  When I first came in, I noticed that placing orders in each café takes too long, along with updating inventory on their old computers and their wireless network was frequently down, and it would run slower than our rival, Panera Bread. The worst part of it is that the office printer can only print in black and white and not in GLORIOUS COLOURS!

6. DHCP and DNS information  The DHCP and DNS server is pointed to the ISP which will assign the said IP addresses for us. This way we won’t have to worry about manually assigning IP addresses to a bunch of computers!

7. Method of connecting to the corporal WAN  My method of getting the new location to connect to the WAN is by hooking up a cable modem which has firewall support so we can block users from accessing malicious or possible threatening websites when they sit down to have their decaf coffee.

8. Resolutions to prevent security threats.  We can help mitigate todays threats by putting up computer policies, downloading the best anti-virus software available to us (Which in this case is Webroot), filter out websites through the company server, and setting up a firewall to block unknown incoming connections.

9. My conclusion  Hopefully with this upgrade to the new locations along with the others, we would have a dramatic decrease of hackers, viruses, and our corporal network would be running faster than it was before including the new wireless AP which will also speed things up wirelessly. In the long-run this network upgrade should turn out well, and I’m giving you the decision if you think my idea is very useful, or if it’ll be too much work for everyone.
