2.  Buddy Bolden (Born: September 6, 1877. Died: November 4, 1931) Slaves are named the founders of jazz.  Started in the early 1600s, in New Orleans, USA.  Originally comes from US and Africa.  Jazz has been a part proud African American tradition for 100 years.  Jazz referred as ‘Americas Classical Music’.

3.  Jazz spans range of music from ragtime to present day period 100 years.  Drew on different national, regional and local music cultures.  Played a faster tempo and used more chord based improvisation.
