Why I’m Interested I’m interested because it’s a hardcore job. You have to learn how to shoot different types of guns and you have to learn how to do different types of moves for when the inmates get out of control.

Job Requirements To be considered for a corrections officer position, applicants must be at least 18 to 21 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED and have no felony convictions. Mental and physical requirements Correctional officers must be in excellent overall condition. Offices must have good eyesight, hearing, and reading skills. Training Requirements Correctional officers receive their training from local, state and federal corrections departments. Training generally includes supervised on- the-job experience in firearms and prisoner-officer relations.

Education Requirements High School Diploma Most prisons require correctional officers to have a Bachelor’s Degree(4 years).

Show me the MONEY Correctional officers make at least 4,000 or more a month depending on how many hours they work.
