2 What is it? Fully Hands-On Marine Science program
Located on the North shore of Catalina 3 days of science and adventure March 2-4 3 academic rotations per day Monday has two rotations Tuesday has three rotations Wednesday has one rotations

3 Educational Laboratories
A myriad of Educational Laboratories can be found on the Camp grounds. Labs cover invertebrates, algae, sharks and even microscopic organisms!!!! All labs are hands on and interactive and are led by college graduates in the respective fields of marine biology and oceanography.

4 Snorkeling Just seeing the kids squirm into the wetsuits is worth it

5 Underwater Exploration
Day time snorkeling is an ADVENTURE!!! Students get to wear buoyancy wetsuits and can snorkel away to their hearts content. They will see garibaldis, kelp beds, crustaceans and many other interesting living organisms and sites. Nighttime snorkeling is for the DARING!!! The dark cover of night changes the creatures that emerge from the depths!!! An hour long dive into the dark depths will open up their eyes to the wonders of the

6 Other Activities at Cherry Cove
Astronomy and nature hike!!! Learn about navigating with the stars and walk among the native flora and fauna of Catalina!!!! Mountain Hikes. Come see the decomposing bison. YES!!! Geology Students will be introduced to geological forces and how they helped to create Catalina Island.

7 Typical Itinerary Monday – noon arrival Tuesday Wednesday
Afternoon rotation – Snorkeling or Kayaking Evening – Night Hike/Astronomy/ Optional Night Snorkel Tuesday Morning – Snorkeling Afternoon – Hiking or Ocean Lab Evening – Night Hike/Astromomy/Optional night snorkel Wednesday Morning – Hiking or Lab Lunchtime departure

8 How do we get there? Bus to the dock Ferry to the Catalina and back
Bus back home again

9 Where do they sleep? Cherry Cove campsite is a Boy Scout Camp
The students sleep in sturdy canvas tents in their sleeping bags or bedding.

10 Will they need extra money?
All Inclusive once they arrive. Sack lunch for the trip over They will always be able to spend money Store opens once a day T-shirts, sweatshirts Candy, snacks Souvenirs Night snorkeling has a small additional fee but it is well worth it.
