2.  He was born on October 27, 1858.  He was born in New York City, New York.  His parents were Theodore Roosevelt Sr. (1831-1878) and Martha Roosevelt (1835 – 1884).

3.  Theodore Roosevelt was nicknamed Teddy Roosevelt during his childhood.  Teddy was asthmatic and was nearsighted as a child.  He was a wealthy child.

4.  Teddy married Alice Lee (1861-1884).  He had one child while married with Alice. Alice was her name.  After Alice died he remarried.  He married Edith Carow (1861–1948).  Teddy had five children while married to Edith. They were Theodore Jr., Kermit, Ethel, Archie, Quentin.

5.  He was president from 1901-1909  He was republican.  His Vice President was Charles Fairbanks.

6.  Teddy died of coronary embolism.

7.  He was a volunteer commander in the first U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment
