5. Assessment To ensure the children accomplish the objective, students will have a discussion centered around friendship, teamwork and what it means to have friends. Students will learn to share and make everyone feel wanted and needed. We, as the teachers, will take notes and record what each child says.

6. Lesson Steps Step 1:Have the children sit and listen to Three Friends Together by Hiawyn Oram

7. Lesson Steps Step 2: Engage students using the paper-bag hand puppets. Allow students to come up in front of the class and act out either their favorite part of the book or a teacher- assigned page.

8. Lesson Steps Step 3: Separate children into groups of four and hand out puzzle pieces. Encourage students to work together as a team to solve the sentence puzzles.

9. Lesson Steps Step 4: When all the groups have finished, bring the class back together for an open discussion on friendship and belonging. Teachers should be taking notes to use for future lessons, as well as to ensure everyone has a fair chance at speaking.

10. Conclusion This Three Friends Together lesson plan will work towards decreasing self-imposed classroom segregation, encourage friendship, and improve social wellness. Students will also improve their team-work skills.
