THE CELL THEORY 150 YRS LATER CAME THE CELL THEORY In 1839 Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann & Rudolf Virchow outlined the 3 parts to this theory. 1. All living organisms are made up of 1 or more cells. 2. Cells are the reason for structure & function in an organism. 3. Cells come only form the reproduction of existing cells
