What is the Endocrine System? What do we know about it?

Endocrine System The system of glands throughout the body that regulate body functions.

Endocrine system The endocrine system sends messages to the body through the blood in the form of hormones. Hormones are the chemical substances produced in the glands that help to regulate the way your body functions.

Glands A group of cells, or an organ, that secretes a chemical substance. IE: the thyroid gland controls metabolism

Hormones Chemical substances produced in certain glands that help to regulate the way your body functions.

Metabolism The process by which the body gets energy from food.
