Creating an INIS Record - Introduction The cataloguing process can be regarded as comprising 4 steps: Step 1 - Publication selection The inputting centre determines whether the publication published in their country or International Organization falls within the subject scope of INIS. (discussed in detail in ‘’Subject Analysis & Indexing’’ part of this seminar) Step 2 - INIS bibliographic input Once a publication has been selected, the cataloguer has to identify and enter very specific information about the publication.
