In information technology, a network is a series of points interconnected by communication paths. Networks can interconnect with other networks and contain subnetworks.

Networks allow computers, and hence their users, to be connected together. They also allow for the easy sharing of information and resources, and cooperation between the devices in other ways.

There are 3 main types of networks LAN MAN WAN LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN) METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORKS (MAN) WIDE AREA NETWORKS (WAN) Wide Area Networks (WANs) connect larger geographic areas, such as countries

METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORKS (MAN) A Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) covers larger geographic areas, such as cities.

WIDE AREA NETWORKS (WAN) Wide Area Networks (WANs) connect larger geographic areas, such as countries

LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN) A computer network that physically links two or more computers within a geographic limited area such as a building.
