Initial chemical composition and temperature can vary across the domain. Click on a “+” button to enter heterogeneity data for any field variable: ● enter data node by node ● import a table ● use a script, equation, or function ● enter an average value and standard deviation
3
Nodal block spacing can be regular or refined in the areas of greatest interest.
4
Choose to enter porosity data node by node.
5
Import a table with porosity values for each node. Alternatively you can enter tables in-line from the command pane.
6
Use a simple equation to describe the porosity field. Or write a BASIC script or C++ function for the most flexibility. Thermal conductivity and internal heat sources can vary in space, as can longitudinal and transverse dispersivity.
7
Porosity is set in this run to vary randomly according to a Gaussian distribution. Permeability is set to vary with porosity.
8
Br − enters the fluid through the left boundary. The random porosity and permeability structure create a “fingering” pattern of infiltration.
