All rights reserved.Altair Proprietary and Confidential Information This tool is used to define a surface heat flux load A positive value indicates that heat flow into the surface Use create button to define varying surface heat flux based on element centroid Flux (Applications | Analysis | Thermal | Flux)

All rights reserved.Altair Proprietary and Confidential Information Flux (Using Field Table) While using table we need XYZ values for each element. 1.Go to Application/FEM 2.Choose Export Nodes/elements 3.Select the faces and click ok 4.XYZ values for each elements in the selected face is stored in text file ( *.CSV)

All rights reserved.Altair Proprietary and Confidential Information 1.XYZ values for each element in the selected face is exported. 2.Element ID is present in the First column and XYZ values are present in the remaining columns. 3.Element ID is not needed in the Field table so delete that column. Click the import option and choose the CSV file. XYZ value for each element and Flux value is displayed in the table. Now click ok. 3. Select the faces choose the field table and click apply. Flux dialog will open. 2.Click the Modify option in the Flux dialog. Field table editor will appear. 3. Click the Plot option and select the contour option. 4. The contour spectrum is displayed on that face. Flux (Using Field Table)

Use create button to define Film coefficient and skin temperature based on element centroid / element nodal. Face or body can be selected to define convection on surface Convection (Applications | Analysis | Thermal | Convection)
