Welcome to Band!

A little about band This is a special community for kids and parents and a part of Fisher life. We learn and build musical skills and expressiveness in a large ensemble collaborative learning environment. We perform often! The nature of band requires active participation, best effort, and a positive attitude. Every action affects the group positively or negatively.

Classroom Management Rules and Expectations Consequences
Show support and respect for the band, director, classroom, property and members Work as a team Strive for excellence No talking or playing while the director is working Raise your hand (and wait to be called on) to speak or leave your seat Consequences Warning 15 minute detention (same day or next day) Third deduction (or incident) in one class session – put instrument away, personal reflection on choice Office Referral

Grades Rehearsal Etiquette Home Practice (weekly- always due Monday)
20 points per week, deductions possible Home Practice (weekly- always due Monday) On-line practice log 60 minutes a week = an A Hard copy practice log also available Parent signature One free week Playing Assessments Done in class or can be sent in by Assessment calendar and grading rubric provided Performances Calendar on website! Consider the affect of an absence – please notify me as soon as possible Alternative assignment provided Occasional assignments in class
