The digestive system organs in the include the liver, gallbladder, stomach, small intestine and the large intestine.

The role of the Digestive System is to break down the food that we eat into nutrients for our body and waste. It squeezes food through 9 metres of twisting and turning tubes. It starts as soon as you begin to chew, with muscles squeezing and powerful chemicals, breaking the food down into smaller and smaller pieces. The liver, gallbladder and pancreas make and release many of the chemicals. The nutrients are absorbed into the blood and some is stored for energy. The waste matter is disposed as faeces and urine.

No a person could not survive with out the digestive system, because with out it you would not be able to get the nutrients and water that we need!

By making sure they drink plenty of water. Eating healthy foods like Lots of fruit and vegetables to get the nutrients that you need!

The main function for the Digestive System is to break down the food into smaller parts so the body can use them to provide energy!

The Digestive System is very important to the human body because it helps us to digest our food.

There a few things that can go wrong with the Digestive System: 1. Diarrhoea: when you have diarrhoea your intestines can't absorb the fluids that come into your body so it comes out with your business. 2. Indigestion: means when you have abdominal discomfort, stabbing pain in the centre of your chest after eating, wind and heartburn.

The food stays in the small intestine from 1-4 hours. The food stays in the mouth for about 1 minute. In the stomach the food stays there for 2-4 hours Adults can hold 1.5 litres of food in their stomach. Fibre keeps our digestive system healthy.

We eat around 500KG of food each year! In the human mouth our food is either cooled or warmed to a more reasonable temperature! The esophagus is approximately 25cm
